Proud Moment

Kathryn was nominated by her teacher to be one of the Students of the Month at Northrop Urban Environmental School. We are so proud of her being Mrs. Stoneburg's right-hand.

Unfortunately we didn't get great pictures of Kathryn receiving her award, but it was a special event for her and I wanted to share it with you!

What Kathryn wants to be when she grows up

In August the girls and I went to the State Fair. We took in the U of M Alumni Band and Goldy Gopher, much to the girls' delight. We also went to the kids farm and the girls did their chores. When we left the kids farm we walked through the horse trailer area to avoid the total congestion on the streets. The following conversation ensued on our traverse through the horse trailer area.

Kathryn singing with BLC Cherub Choir 10-25-2009

Kathryn is in the Cherub Choir (K-2nd grade) at Bethlehem Lutheran and she quite enjoys it. The director told us that Kathryn is one of her favorites (of course--why wouldn't she be a favorite?!!!) because she is so friendly and loves to participate. =)

Watch and see how much she follows the director. Perhaps she has a future in dramatic music...

Zoe, Solveig, & Karyn

We had the good fortune to spend some time with the Wochnick's and the Johnson's just before and after Thanksgiving. It was great fun to be together and to see how the kids are all changing. I had the presence of mind to get a few shots; it will be great to have them to compare as time goes on...There is also a short video clip.

New pictures posted

We posted a few "new" pictures recently. Check out:

for new Zoe pictures and for pictures of Pat & Kendra with the girls and the cats.

videos posted

I took some time to update the website with a few videos from the past months. We have WAY more pictures of Kathryn as an infant, but many more videos of Zoe. I love my little camera!

Both girls are growing so much, I can hardly believe it or stand it! Today at rest time (when I was insisting that Kathryn lay down, be quiet, and lay still so she would actually take a nap b/c she has cold) she folded her hands on her chest, closed her eyes and tipped her head away from me and prayed this prayer: "God, Please help Mommy feel better and help me take a nap so my cold goes away. Thank you, God." I don't know where she learned how to pray that way because we don't make her do that when we say prayers.!!!!

ooohhh...Puppets

Zoe is fascinated with faces these days--puppet faces included. She is reaching out and grabbing our faces and talking with us as she explores. It is so amazing and fun to see her learn and to learn with her as we explain it to Kathryn.

Kathryn Playing Peek-A-Boo with Zoe

We were talking about what Zoe learns from playing peek-a-boo and Kathryn chimed in to play with Zoe. This was one of the first times we were able to catch the full glory of a Zoe belly laugh! ENJOY!!!

Zoe "Drinking" Water

Zoe is very interested in the whole "eating from the table" thing and has grabbed at our food (and gotten it) several times! She caught the glass of water that AJ was drinking from and had a "drink" (more like licking the glass) too! It was cuter than the video captured, but I hope you can get the gist!
